Binnekill Getaway Apartments FAQ's and Cancellation Policies.

How do I get into the Apartments?

On the morning of your arrival, we send you an email with directions, pictures, and an access code to a lockbox for the Apartment. This way, you don't have to worry about meeting anyone in person. If for some reason you don't receive this email, check your SPAM folder, call or text us to have it re-sent to you.

 

Where do I Park?

The Binnekill Square Complex is located on Main Street in the Heart of Margaretville Village, There is limited parking during the day for the retail businesses, We now have to kindly ask our guests to park in the free municipal lot behind the building during the day as per the Village regulations. You may park out front to load and unload your luggage during the day from approx 9am-4:30 pm, You may park one vehicle in the front of the building at night from 4:30pm- 9am. It is all way easier than it sounds once you get here. You will receive much more detailed info when you are sent your booking information.

 

Do I have to bring my own bedding/sleeping bags/pillows?

No, We provide clean linens in our Apartments, including clean sheets, blankets, comforters, and pillows, But you are certainly welcome to bring your own if you have a favorite pillow or blanket.

 

What cooking/eating utensils will I need?

Our Apts. are provided with very basic cooking equipment, including pans, cutlery, and dishware. Unless you have a specific and unusual requirement, you should not need to bring anything to cook with. We provide you with Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, water, salt, and pepper. You can always ask if you have something specific in mind.

 

Will my cell phone work in your area and apartments?

Possibly not, unless it is a smartphone that can use Wi-Fi, all our Apts. offer free  Wi-Fi. so you should be fine in and around the building. We are in the Catskill Mountains and cell service can sometimes be spotty, always plan ahead, print maps, or download directions to your phone to use offline.

 

Are there any limits on Internet usage?

We do not actively throttle or block any particular websites or Internet protocols. Our Internet connections can be used to stream Netflix and hold Skype conversations. However, please bear in mind that our properties are in a mountainous rural area, and Internet connection speed and reliability cannot be guaranteed. In the event of any problems, please contact us and we will work with the provider to get the issue resolved as quickly as possible. We do not have cable but we do have Roku T.V.s that you can log into your own streaming accounts, there is also plenty of free channels on the Roku TV.

 

What do I do for food?

You will need to provide your own food if you want to cook; We do have a Freshtown grocery store within walking distance and, Home Goods of Margaretville on the corner has many specialty food items. We also have restaurants and cafes, Speedway gas station and convenience store, dollar general, and the Country store gas station, but it is always recommended to plan ahead, Many stores and restaurant hours here may be very different than in more commercial areas.

 

Can I check in early/check out later?

Possibly, depending on when the next guest will be arriving, but you need to specifically ask and receive an answer beforehand.
If there is a guest arriving/departing on the same day, no early/late check is possible.
If there is no other arrival or departure, we usually permit up to 2 extra hours. Beyond that requires payment of an additional fee. Taking early/late checkout without arranging it with us beforehand and obtaining written permission, will incur a sizable additional fee.
Please note: early check-in and late check-out may be rescinded later on if a different group reserves the nights immediately before or after your booking. We try to avoid this but If that happens, we will contact you and let you know that your early check-in or late check-out is no longer possible. While rare, this does happen from time to time, so please be aware of the possibility. If you wish to lock in your early check-in or late check-out, we offer an "All Day" check-in and check-out option, for a fee, that blocks off the preceding or following nights so that others cannot book that time. Please let us know if you wish to have this option.

 

Can I bring my pet?

No Pets of any kind! although we adore pets, Pets are not allowed, Our Apartments are not suitable, we try to keep them allergy free as possible for all our guests and there is nowhere for fluffy to go potty outside. Anyone caught sneaking one in risks having their stay canceled without a refund and incurring extra cleaning fees.

 

Do your Apts. allow smoking?

NO! No Smoking or vaping is strictly forbidden inside all of our apts. However, you are perfectly free to smoke in the beautiful great outdoors, Please use good sense and courtesy regarding your ashes, butts, or other potentially hazardous materials. No candles or any other fire hazard possibilities.

 

Do you allow events or parties?

We want our guests to enjoy their time here and encourage laughing but we try to provide a quiet and relaxing environment for everyone and do not allow for parties or events.

 

What is the weather like? What should I wear?

There is a saying here " If you don't like the weather wait five minutes",  Which means the weather can change quickly! We have summer, winter, spring, fall, and mud seasons! We kind of have our own weather system here. Our summers can be hot during the day, and cool off quickly when the sun goes down. Winter weather can change in a heartbeat from no snow to full-on snow squalls, You should always be well prepared! Make sure your vehicle is winter ready, and have the appropriate clothing and footwear for any outdoor activities you are planning on. Always check the weather before heading out!

 

Are your Apartments handicapped accessible?

All of the Apartments are located in an older building, three are on the second floor up a full flight of stairs, the two others have stairs down to the deck to get to the door of the apartment, all but the studio have stairs to the sleeping lofts, Two of our properties are usable by people with limited mobility who can handle a few steps, and use a shower or shower stall with assistance. It is best to discuss your specific needs with us before you make your reservation so you'll know what to expect.

 

Are there any cameras in the Apartments?

No, there are no cameras anywhere in any of the apartments, we respect our guest's privacy however, there is a camera in the entranceway of the building, and there may be cameras throughout the property in the individual retail stores on the ground floor of the complex set up by the individual shop owners.

 

What do your cleaning fees cover and what is your Damage Policy?

We pay our cleaners a living wage and do our best to keep our cleaning fees as low as possible, We base our fees on length of stay, 1-3 days, 3-7 days, 2 or more weeks of stay, will require a bi-weekly cleaning. Our cleaning fees cover, the clean linens and bedding, sanitizing of the entire apartment, and removal of the garbage. The only thing we ask our guests to do cleaning-wise is please do their own dishes, we'll put them away.  We ask our guests to please be tidy so we can keep our fees on the lower side. Any excessive mess or damage will be charged an additional fee based on the amount of additional time or the amount of damage. We expect normal wear and tear and accidents can happen, please let us know immediately if there is any damage or issues so we can handle it immediately.

 

Why do you ask all your guests to sign a rental agreement?

We ask all of our guests to sign the point of the contact form, rental agreement and provide a government ID, this is to insure the person booking is of age and who they say they are. It provides legal protection for the renter, the host, and the owner.  We reserve the legal right to cancel any booking that does not sign the renter's agreement prior to arrival. You will have the opportunity after booking to review the E-Mail sent to you with the renter's agreement in full, if you would like to review the renters agreement before hand please let us know.

 

What is your cancellation policy?

When you book an apartment at Binnekill Getaway Apartments, the apartment is reserved for your exclusive use, and so it is unavailable for anyone else to rent. Cancellation less than a few days ahead of time, prevents us from possibly getting another booking, so we offer a moderate but flexible cancellation policy and suggest you purchase travel insurance if there is any chance of cancellation.

Guest receives 100.00% (less 3% cancellation fee) if cancellation occurs at least 3 days before arrival; Guest receives 50.00% (less 3% cancellation fee) if cancellation occurs at least 1 day before arrival; No refunds within 1 day of arrival. We highly recommend buying travel insurance - either standard or CFAR (cancel for any reason) - when booking if there is any possibility of cancellation.  Needing to cancel or move dates is extremely common and it greatly helps to have travel insurance if the unforeseen happens.  We sell travel insurance directly through our software and provide you links to buy it with your booking.  Please contact us about this if you have questions.
